Christmas Card Class Preview

Hello! For those of you attending my class on November 1oth at 1:00, here is a peek at what we will be making. The first is a candle with a stamped band around it. Here I used the 5-petal punch along with the scallop circle punch to make this. This would be great to use for a holiday gift for someone, and inexpensive, too!
In addition to making 50 Christmas cards with envelopes and the candle pictured above, we will also make this square transparency card. Here I used white Stazon ink with the stamp set 'The Snowflake Spot'. Everyone will also get a square stamped envelope with this card. I will definitely have lots of good snacks, and everyone will get a Christmas gift from me, too! Cost is $45 with a $15 deposit due at sign-up. Let me know if you would like to attend -- I have 4 spots left. I am looking forward to it -- it should be a fun afternoon! :)

My little baby....

Here's my little Hunter, just chillin' with me tonight after work. :) Actually, more like begging for some of the cheese and crackers I'm eating. He likes cheese. Guess he takes after his Mommy. Ha!

I am trying out a new casserole tomorrow for lunch, a mexican chicken and rice recipe. So if it's any good, I'll post the recipe.

Just got the new Crop in Style XXL tote today from Hobby Lobby with a coupon. Now I'm excited to go to my next crop! :) It's freakin' HUGE! No more lugging around 8 different bags for me!

I miss Adam. That's the bad part about working evenings, that I never see him. Except for when he comes home for lunch. Woohoooo.....but on a better note, looks like I'm scheduled to work days for the next month at least, so I can have some sort of normalcy!

Just sent out an email today for my Christmas Card Class on November 10th, so hopefully I will have a good turnout! The class I had on World Card Making Day was fun. We are planning on doing 50 Christmas cards with envelopes, plus we will make a stamped candle gift and a transparent snowflake card.

That's all for now. Time to hit the hay. Good night!

The Cheesecake Factory!

All that I can say is --- now I can die happy. LOL! There's me in front of the Cheesecake Factory restaruant in Des Moines. If we were going to drive all the way to Archivers, then we just HAD to go there. :) It was soooooo good!

Here's me and Stephanie at the restaurant. Phew! What a long day. Fun times, though!

Happy Fall!

Just thought I would post real quick before I go to bed tonight. I'm trying to stay up late since I'm working 2nd shift tomorrow. :) But I just had 6 days of vacation, so I can't complain, right?

The wall hanging pictured above was part of a class my upline, Lisa, had this weekend. She is doing seasonal wall hanging classes, and when we're all done, we will have 12 - one for every month of the year! This Happy Fall one was actually for September, but I liked it so much I will probably use it the rest of the month. Cool!

I have also been busy the last couple of days working on a scrapbook for a friend I work with. She hired me to do it for her daughter's 18th birthday, so I have a big job ahead of me! :) I am actually enjoying it a lot, though. It's kind of refreshing to scrap someone else's life and not have to worry about the journaling part. I will try to get some pictures posted tomorrow, because I am really happy with how the pages are turning out so far.

Nighty nite!

Some of my newly acquired goodies

This was probably my most exciting find. I have been looking everywhere for these Scenic Route chipboard letters and finally found them! Woohoo!
Chipboard letters, Thickers, new Doodlebug letters, Versamark pen. Sakura glitter pen, glue pad, Doodlebug sugar coating, twill from MME.
The new 'Recess' line from Basic Grey and some Reminisce fall paper.
I LOVE Scenic Route's paper!

I always have to have some new star paper. And these circle templates are awesome for placing brads with.

Some new idea books.

Karen Foster Halloween brads.

We drove all the way from the convention center to West Des Moines to get this "free tote bag", as Archivers called it. Ha! More like a ziploc bag! :) We did also get $5 off coupons, though, so I can't complain too much.

Flock from Archivers. Haven't used this stuff yet, but I'm excited to!

Calendar paper from Archiver's. I am planning on making one for my grandparents for Christmas this year. :)

Archiver's make and take. Cute card!

Some new patterns from American Crafts. I can never resist their paper!

Back from Convention!

Well, we just got back from the Midwest Scrabooking Association's convention in Des Moines last night. It was a fun day! We got to see a ton of cool products, and do some fun make and takes as well. Here is a cute gumball machine turned button dispenser. How cute, right? I will post some pics later today of all the cool goodies I got.

This ribbon display was just beautiful!

Here is a picture from the SU display.

And another.

Here is some of the new Sugar Coated line from Doodlebug. Very cute!

Some more from Doodlebug.

Some more goodies from class/camp

Here's a card from last night's monthly stamp class with my upline, Lisa. The 'Boo!' is actually cut out of the Creepy Crawly DP. Cool!

This was also one of my favorites. I love the punched circles along with the eyelet and the ribbon. Cute! And did I also mention that I am really wanting this set (Autumn Fest) now?

This card was probably my very favorite. I really need the spiral punch now, because I am seeing a Christmas version of this card with a snowflake instead of the leaf. Hmmm.....my SU order list just keeps growing! :)

I didn't actually get to attend Lisa's camp this month because of my work schedule, but she did give me a sample of all the goodies which was so sweet of her! This card uses the 5 petal flower punch, along with the 3 flower punch to achieve a tone-on-tone effect which is lovely! This is River Rock cardstock, in regular and linen textured.

Thanks for stopping by!

Yet another day of procrastination....

Don't you just love these notepads? My upline, Lisa, did these at her stamp camp this month. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go, but she did give me all the goodies when I saw her last night! Yay! I also gave her all the cards from my class last weekend for WCMD. I am thinking this notepad idea might just be good for Christmas gifts too....hmmmm.... :) Lisa told me she got the mini-legal pads at Wal-Mart, so I need to go look for those tomorrow.

I also need to go to Cottage Corner up in Davenport to get some reading material for Friday. My friend Stephanie and I are driving to Des Moines for the Midwest Scrapbooking Association convention and I am super excited! I will be sure to bring my camera and share everything. :)

Still the wedding invites are looming over my head.....and the scrapbook for my co-worker....and some cards that a friend requested. Am I in over my head or what? Looks like it's gonna be a late night for me!

I'm still alive. :)

Yep I'm still alive. I have been so busy at work the last couple weeks that I haven't wanted to do ANYTHING when I get home at night. At least I'm on vacation this week so hopefully I will get something productive done! :)

Last weekend's class (my first one!) was quite a success! Thanks to all of you who came and made cards with me -- I had a lot of fun! I will be planning a 50 Christmas card class for the first part of November and another class in December -- not sure what that will entail yet. I ordered one of the Stampin' Up perpetual birthday calendars, so we'll see what I can come up with for that.

Tonight I'm going over to Lisa's for card class and I'm bringing her the samples from last weekend. I think she's got some goodies for me too! I need to make up some sample wedding invitations this week for my friend Cassandra who's getting married in May. I told her that if I did her invitations, it would be my gift to her.

I also need to work on a scrapbook that I'm doing for a friend at work. Her daughter's 18th birthday is in November, so I have to get going on that! Sounds like I should have busy week -- but anything's better than being at work..... lol!
