{retail therapy}

Considering this week has been a pretty stressful one at work (and it's only Weds, ugh!!) I decided to treat myself to a little retail therapy :) Certainly won't hurt, right??

First up, a remote for my camera. Been wanting one for a while! This one had good reviews so we'll see how it works :)

This awesome heart punch. Can't wait to get it!

Aaaand my favorite.....this months SC Kit.

I can't wait til this arrives on my doorstep! I'm loving the exclusive Sass paper and chipboard butterflies. :)

Here's to a calmer Thursday & Friday.....can't wait for the weekend!

{faithful friend}

I was lucky enough to crop a few weeks back with my friends Janet and Megan (who I finally got to meet!). We had a blast.

I recently ordered this book (that Megan just happens to have a few layouts in!) and was flipping through it when I found one of her pages to scraplift.

Here's my take....only with a pic of my doggie :)

My scraproom has been flooded with LOTS of new product lately....that's a good thing right?? I used up some of it on this page....Crate Paper, AC, Pebbles, Pink paislee, Elle's Studio, Prima.

Thanks for the inspiration Megan!

{fall recipes}

We'rrrrrre back!  From Vegas that is :) Pics to follow!

I wanted to share a little mini album I made this month for The Scrapbooking Studio.

I used a Maya Road pumpkin shaped chipboard album that I painted with acrylic paint. I used papers from the American Crafts Nightfall line, as well as Amy Tangerine Thickers and some Echo Park Halloween sticker embellishments from the Apothecary Emporium line.

Here are the rest of the pages:

Some of my favorite fall-time recipes!

Have a great weekend....not looking forward to going back to work Monday, but hey, after a week of vacation who is??

{a few cards}

I had a friend request some cards - a memorial and a wedding card. This wedding card uses one of my new fave lines...Random by Crate Paper!

Love the patterned papers and chipboard embellishments in this line.

And a memorial card with some Pebbles goodies.

Thanks for stopping by - my posts will be few and far between for a little while, we're getting ready to go to Vegas for our 5th anniversary!

See ya later :)

{papa} pretty little studio

Hey guys! I had a layout up on the Pretty Little Studio blog last week about Keira and her 'papa' feeding the ducks.

I used mostly the April Showers collection - love the bright colors in this line :)

Check out this post to enter to win a $25 gift card or the Scaredy Cat Halloween collection! Mine should be arriving this week and I'm excited to start creating with it :)

Have a great weekend!

{AC nightfall}

Hey there! This month, I was lucky enough to work with the Nightfall line by American Crafts for the Scrapbooking Studio....I love this line!

Here's a quick card I made using some of the pattern paper, chalkboard label, and the delights. Seriously -- the AC delights are my favoritest embellishment ever. I would like to use them on every single project from now on :) Totally worth the $3.99!! :D

My next project is a layout of my sister and I at our Halloween party last year. She dressed as Michael Jackson and it was too funny!

Head over to the Scrapbooking Studio blog for more inspiration from the DT coming up! And if you're local, definitely go check out the store - and soon! I was just in this past weekend and they have new product coming out their ears :)

Have a good one!

{happy labor day!}

I'm sure people thought I was a fool standing out in the street today snapping pictures of my house....but I've had a scrapbook page in my head for awhile now and today was the perfect day to get some pics :)

We are moving this fall, and as much as I am looking forward to a lot more space, I will miss this house...the first house we purchased together and made a home, Keira's first home and the first place I really felt at home and looked forward to coming home to each and every night.

It's not huge or fancy but it's all ours and the first investment we made together as a couple. I only hope the housing market will be kind to us and we'll be able to find someone else who will love it as much as we have.

Anyway - I put my flag out front with pride today, then I realized I don't really know what the meaning of Labor Day is!
Courtesy the U.S. Department of Labor
Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country.
 Today we are celebrating with family and friends by hosting a cookout at our house. And I will be celebrating by being thankful for Adam and I's jobs. :)

Since I can't leave you without something crafty (ok I seriously just typed 'crappy' instead of crafty - wth?!), here are a few sneaks of projects I'm working on for The Scrapbooking Studio.

Lots of Halloween and I am loving it! Working on a mini album next.

Have a great rest of the weekend!

{color inspiration}

Hey guys! Jennifer here, and today I was inspired by this gorgeous photo and color combination to make a layout about my daughter and her piggy bank.

Gorgeous colors, don't you agree?

I used lots of Donna Salazar papers on this one.

Papers are from the Sping in Bloom line, as well as a few Melody Ross embellies :)

Don't forget the cabochon!!

I also got out my Chip Art tool for this cute butterfly.

Thanks for stopping by, see you soon!

{good luck!}

Hi there! Jennifer here, and today I'm going to show you a cute gift idea you can tuck inside your kids' lunchbox or backpack. Maybe they're just starting back to school, or maybe they have a big test coming up. Whatever the occasion, this will be sure to cheer them up :)

To start out, we'll make an embellished tag out of patterned paper strips. If you're like me, you have a hard time throwing scraps away. this is a great way to use them!

Gather up some strips of paper and a tag.

Adhere them onto the tag, then turn over and trim the excess off.

You can add a little stitching if you want, too!

I embellished the tag with an apple die cut, pencil and punched star. These papers are from the upcoming "Elementary My Dear" line by GCD. I tucked some oatmeal scotchies into a little glassine sack and clipped the tag on top.

And here's a fun shaped card to go with the treat ;)

Thanks for stopping by! Have a good one!
